Lewes Werks is not a building.
You could become a host. It’s voluntary and profitable.
Lewes Werks wants to build a professional community that works easily. In order to do that, we think it makes more sense to have members of the Lewes Werks community ‘hosting’ the space, rather than paying a receptionist.
The idea is that if two or three members of the community commit to hosting regularly, the community benefits (from having regular faces… but not the same person all the time). and the host benefits by being at the heart of the community, with all the advantages of the Lewes Werks space. By being the host you actually get more out of Lewes Werks than anyone else does…
The first host has less time to host now (at least partly because being a host brought him more work…)
By being the heart of the community, meeting people, connecting people…and keeping the cost to the community down, the host helps maintain a level of customer service (but in a different way).
Ideally, there will be two or three people (including Rosie), who are happy to help out and want to be involved in the community a bit and who can be relied on to make some kind of a commitment. (“i’ll help out when i can” might not be enough.)
There’s a rota in the form of a paper calendar stuck on the wall.
You can use the space to get on with work, but have to commit to being in the building during certain hours.
Full use of the space itself
