Lewes Werks is not a building…
‘Lewes Werks’ is a new project, developed by Werkshop, a social enterprise who currently run three busy coworking spaces in Brighton and Hove. Rosie Sherry, a director of Werkshop, opened a new branch in Lewes in February 2009.
The point of Lewes Werks is “building a collaborative professional community that works easily”.
Lewes Werks is for freelancers, small businesses, working parents and social enterprises in within the Lewes vecinity (who are interested in building a collaborative professional community that works easily)
We (the freelancers, small businesses already involved) think a good way of doing that is if we…
…keep it simple.
…make sure everything is flexible and helpful
…make sure the space (and everything to do with it) adapts to what people want and need
…find natural ways of working together
…make sure everyone feels free to take action and do stuff (don’t wait) – there’s a “right of initiative”
…work with a spirit of trust and open communication
…make it good business
